Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to the St Leonard’s Catholic Primary School Website. I trust that the information contained in these pages will be sufficient to give you an insight into the overall structure of the school and the set of guiding principles by which we operate.

St Leonard’s Catholic Primary School is committed to providing a safe and caring educational environment for all the students in our care. We aim to provide a learning environment, which is friendly, welcoming and secure, where children, parents and teachers work in unison to support and nurture each individual. We endeavour to provide the educational resources and physical facilities necessary to enhance this learning environment.

We believe that we are called to care for all in our community and support the concept of social justice through our promotion of Gospel values. We commit ourselves to a learning environment that is technologically and academically progressive by providing students the opportunity to experience success in the pursuit of excellence.

Our school has a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy skills and is supported by an inquiry approach to learning. We also place a strong emphasis on teaching all students at their point of need and providing educational support for those children most in need. This is facilitated by the work of the student support staff and a collaborative approach of the teaching staff at all levels.

We value each individual within our school community and commit ourselves to assist and challenge them to realise their spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social and physical potential. We strive to contribute to the development of students’ sense of self worth, enthusiasm for learning and optimism for the future. We value the rich cultural and social diversity that exists in our school and society and encourage students’ greater understanding, tolerance and acceptance of others.

It is a privilege to be the Principal of this school. I work with a staff who are highly skilled, dedicated and generous with both their time and effort. The support they show each other and the level of teamwork they aspire to, can bring only positive results for the students in our school.
