🏏🎾🏐⚾ Over the last two Fridays, our Year 5/6 students have proudly represented the school in Interschool Sport!

Students competed in cricket, tennis, volleyball and T-ball, showing fantastic teamwork, determination and sportsmanship across all games. We are so proud of the way they represented our school and supported one another throughout the competition.

To celebrate their efforts and commitment, everyone enjoyed a well-earned Zooper Dooper to finish! 🍦💪

Last week, our Guardians of St Leonard’s conducted a yard audit across the school, collecting rubbish from different areas to see what we are really leaving behind.

This week, the gloves went back on as we sorted, counted and recorded everything found. The students are now compiling a report to identify litter hotspots, explore why these areas are problem zones, and propose practical actions to improve our waste management.

We will repeat this audit later in the year to track our progress and measure improvement.

This work supports St Leonard’s goal of becoming a Five Star ResourceSmart School, beginning with the Waste module as we aim to reduce our overall waste and work towards becoming a nude food school in the future.

These photos capture a group of students who were incredibly keen and passionate about making a real difference in our school community. 🌿♻️

Weather, seasons and stories 🌦️📚

Our Year 1/2 learners have been exploring weather and seasons in Inquiry, while in Literacy we’ve been reading a range of texts about seasonal changes. Through this learning, students have also been discovering the seasonal calendar of the Bardi people, an Indigenous Australian group, and learning about their deep knowledge of weather, nature and connection to Country.

A great example of cross-curricular learning as Inquiry and Literacy come together to build understanding.

Well done to the hard working students

Our Year 3 Students are learning about the true meaning of Reconciliation 🤍

Through honest conversations about truth, respect and forgiveness, they’re growing in understanding and empathy. In a few weeks they’ll have their own Reconciliation Mass to ask for forgiveness and grow closer to God— we couldn’t be prouder. 🌿
